Age Exchange is the UK’s leading reminiscence charity.
We work with people with dementia and their carers to help improve their lives and hold on to their memories by using reminiscence and the arts.
We support carers of older people, in particular those with dementia, by providing group activities three days a week at our centre and one to one tailored support for carers in the community.
The Exchange, Age Exchange’s community hub, is a local community resource offering activities including seated pilates, belly-dancing, art classes and talks, offering both physical and social activity. Volunteers, many of whom are older people themselves, help to run the hub café and community library.
Our aim is to keep the person with dementia living at home through maintaining the health and wellbeing of the carer.
The Friends of Age Exchange exists to support the work of Age Exchange. As part of its fundraising, the Friends of Age Exchange will stage the Blackheath Christmas Fair on 19 November 2017 at Blackheath Halls to raise vital funds for this incredible charity. In association with the Fair, the Friends are running a raffle from November until 15 December.
